Job Summary:

This role is responsible for executing Local Store Marketing (LSM) planning for an assigned territory. The position involves developing, recommending, and implementing marketing and brand strategies to drive sales growth. The role includes facilitating communication and providing feedback to leadership on key brand initiatives and ensuring alignment with corporate marketing plans for new products and advertising initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a brand ambassador by identifying and executing brand opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Plan and execute event and sponsorship activations to build brand sales, including local business visits and charitable efforts.
  • Collaborate with Restaurant Operations to develop unit-level plans, monitor sales goals, and track results.
  • Identify and report on necessary marketing tools such as advertisements, premiums, and Point of Purchase (POP) materials.
  • Develop quarterly measurement reports on LSM activities, capturing objectives, timing, results, and sales impact.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide reports on the impact of outdoor billboard and other LSM programs.
  • Ensure that marketing activities align with corporate brand goals and planned strategies for assigned territory.
  • Research media opportunities and make recommendations for media-based sponsorships and engagement based on territory needs.
  • Develop relationships with community leaders and evaluate events for sponsorship and participation to enhance community relations and sales.
  • Negotiate with community event organizers to secure stores' involvement, including developing event budgets and overseeing execution.
  • Represent Whataburger at community events, fostering stronger brand connections within the community.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of marketing plans, including justifying advertising fund expenditures.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee third-party marketing vendors within the assigned territory.
  • Manage a $100,000+ annual marketing budget for the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate with local Operations Teams to align with the Marketing Calendar and initiatives to support promotions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Previous marketing experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing franchisee relationships, local store marketing, and sponsorship management is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in the restaurant industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Workday (if applicable).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with management, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
